PrEP4ALL’s identity system is based upon its core tenets—accessibility with distribution, and giving what citizens are owed. With references to historic HIV activism paired with bold typography, the brand functions in both political spaces and the more informal queer communities. Visual research for the rebrand can be found here.
PrEP4ALL’s secondary logo is designed to work at multiple scales where typographic treatment is inapplicable. It also incorporates a subtle lighting bolt, a nod to PrEP4ALL’s promise of “sparking political change.”
The color system prominently features the blue of Truvada, a patented Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis medication. With its pink, the system additionally contains colors similar to that of the Transgender Pride Flag, as an inclusion of a prominent community that has been underserved in the broader health discussions about HIV prevention.
Upper Left: Cis-gender women were excluded from drug trials using Descovy as PrEP, leaving the FDA to approve Descovy as HIV preventable medication only for cis men and transgender women. Meanwhile, cis-women, especially black women, are also often not being informed of using Truvada as an option for HIV prevention.
Upper Right: Truvada used as PrEP, when prescribed non-domestically, costs as low as $6 per month, as Truvada is patented in the United States.
Lower Left: The research that was used to develop Truvada as PrEP was done by US Health institutions, and thus already paid for by US taxpayers.
Lower Right: Truvada, when taken daily, reduces HIV transmission rates by over 99%.
While also used in advertising and merchandising, stickers have been used as effective tools of guerrilla activism to spread awareness or messaging.
